CSI & NAWIC Tee Up Another Successful Tournament at Old Hawthorne

Every good golf outing needs a little drama, and this year's opening act came courtesy of Mother Nature, who apparently decided the tournament needed a weather hazard before the first ball even left a tee.

Despite an uncertain start, the annual golf tournament co-hosted by the Central Missouri Chapters of CSI and NAWIC Chapter 341 proved once again that this group knows how to play through and finish strong. By the time golfers took to the beautiful grounds of The Club at Old Hawthorne, the clouds had cleared, the temperatures had climbed, and the course became the kind of summer test that rewards patience, sunscreen, and a reliable short game.

Of course, the day was about more than drives, putts, and the occasional ball that disappeared into places no golf ball should reasonably go. The real success came from the generosity of the tournament's sponsors, prize partners, and players. Their support will help fund educational programs and scholarships for both chapters, continuing the mission that makes this event so meaningful each year.

After the final putts dropped, participants gathered for an Awards Happy Hour, the perfect 19th hole. It was a chance to celebrate winners, thank sponsors, and share golf stories that somehow improved with every retelling. A shot that "just missed the green" by mid-afternoon had likely become a near-birdie by happy hour.

In the end, the best score of the day didn't fit on a scorecard. It was reflected in the funds raised, the friendships strengthened, and the support generated for future educational opportunities.
